Privacy Policy

Viral Lab provides AI-assisted tools to help creators improve short-form videos. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, when we share it, and what happens when you choose to send a video for AI analysis.

AI Analysis Notice

Before an analysis starts, the app asks for your permission and tells you that your uploaded video will be sent to OpenAI for transcription and AI analysis. If you do not agree, you can cancel before the upload starts.

  • Data sent: uploaded video content, audio-derived transcript data, selected tools, filename metadata, language, and target platform.
  • Recipient: OpenAI, our third-party AI processor for transcription and analysis.
  • Purpose: generate the analysis, hooks, titles, and other results you requested.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

If you sign in, we collect account identifiers such as your email address and Firebase UID.

Content You Upload

When you upload a video for analysis, we process the video to generate transcripts, key frames, scores, recommendations, and other analysis results. The uploaded content may include personal information that appears in the video or audio, but we do not require you to provide sensitive personal information to use the app.

Usage and Diagnostics

We collect diagnostics and product telemetry needed to run and improve the app, including app version, device or platform information, crash logs, feature usage events, and support diagnostics you choose to send.

Billing and Rewards Data

To manage subscriptions, credits, and rewarded ads, we process billing and entitlement data such as current plan tier, monthly vs yearly billing period, active entitlements, last-known renewal expiry timestamp, transaction or reward status, and credit balance. We also keep per-day and per-month counters of credits earned via rewarded ads to enforce daily (30 credits) and monthly (60 credits) caps and prevent abuse.

2. How We Use Information

  • Provide video analysis, recommendations, and analysis history.
  • Send uploaded video content to OpenAI for transcription and AI-generated analysis that powers the tools you request.
  • Maintain your account, subscription status, plan limits, and credits.
  • Improve product quality, performance, and user experience.
  • Provide support when you contact us.

3. Storage and Retention

Uploaded videos are processed temporarily and are not stored long-term. Temporary files created during analysis are deleted after processing completes or fails. We store a small JSON record of each completed analysis (selected tools, timestamps, scores, and recommendations) for a period that depends on your subscription tier: Free up to 5 days, Starter up to 15 days, Creator up to 30 days, and Pro up to 50 days. A scheduled background job removes records past these windows.

4. Third-Party Services

We use third-party processors and infrastructure providers to run core features, including Firebase for authentication and crash reporting, Google Sign-In, RevenueCat, Meta App Events, Google AdMob, OpenAI, and Resend. These services process data on our behalf according to their own terms and policies.

5. Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only:

  • With service providers required to operate the app.
  • To comply with legal obligations.
  • To protect our rights and prevent abuse.

6. AI Coach (paid follow-up chat)

The AI Coach is an in-app chat available on Starter, Creator, and Pro plans where you can ask follow-up questions about a single completed analysis. To answer, the app sends OpenAI a compact, sanitised summary of THAT analysis (your scores, drop-off points, action plan, and a couple of generated hook/title examples), a rolling window of your last few messages in this thread, plus a small profile slice — your display name when you have set one, your plan tier, and the goal / template you selected for this video. We never send OpenAI your email, user id, phone number, billing balance, or content from any analysis other than the one you opened.

Conversations are stored in our database, scoped per user and per analysis, so revisiting an analysis later resumes the same thread. Daily message limits apply (Starter 5, Creator 20, Pro 60); free-tier users do not have access. We log per-message token counts and an estimated cost against your account for fraud and fair-use monitoring.

Coach replies are AI-generated and may be inaccurate. Coach is not a substitute for legal, medical, financial, or professional advice and may refuse off-topic, harmful, or jailbreak-style requests by design.

7. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information. No system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your Choices

  • Stop using the app at any time.
  • Request account deletion from Settings to remove associated account data.
  • Contact us to request help or ask questions.

Removing the app deletes local app data on your device. Server-side account data may remain until deleted via account deletion, operational cleanup, or retention lifecycle.
